Yet more carnage. Nikolas Cruz, a 19-year-old white kid armed with a semiautomatic AR-15 assault rifle and  “countless magazines,” killed at least 17 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in affluent, safe Parkland, Florida; he had been expelled from the school last year for "disciplinary reasons." 

Cruz was captured in a nearby town by police about an hour later.  The massacre was this country's 18th school shooting this year, which is only 46 days old, and its 29th mass shooting. "This is catastrophic," said the sheriff. "There really are no words."

Actually, there are some. The NRA is a terrorist organization. Save your fucking thoughts and prayers. When is it time to talk about gun control? Are we ready to acknowledgethat Sandy Hook marked the end of any substantive gun control debate in this country, because, really, once America decided killing children was bearable, it was all over?

To slimy hypocrite Marco Rubio, who declared, "Today is that terrible day you pray never comes," it might be time to return that $3,298,000 you got from the NRA. To the NRA and all its other gutless GOP flunkies who heedlessly took millions in blood money from them: Hear these kids screaming as gunfire erupted around them, and see those anguished parents, and know this is on you.
