Assange's lawyer expects "big news" from prosecutor

Marianne Ny, the Swedish prosecutor investigating a rape accusation against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, will hold a press conference in Stockholm today to provide an update on the seven-year long case.
Assange's Swedish lawyer, Per Samuelson, told Radio Sweden he expects prosecutor to either lift the detention order on Assange or close the case.
"I assume that there is something new, something big, and something entirely new to the case," he said. "You would not, in Sweden, honestly call for a press conference to announce that you have filed a submission today."
Samuelson filed a month ago for the court to drop the detention order on Assange after US Attorney General Jeff Sessions said arresting Assange was a priority for the US Justice Department.
Friday is the deadline for the prosecutors to send a request for Assange's arrest to Stockholm District Court.
