Savagely telling it like it is, our favorite woman warrior Elizabeth Warren shredded the presumptive Drumpf this week in a speech at the Center for Popular Democracy's annual gala. Citing his newly revealed and fabulously revealing remark in a 2007 interview that he was kinda looking forward to the idea of a housing meltdown" - who SAYS these things out loud?!? - because he could rake in the profits, Warren called him out not just as a sorry specimen of manhood but as a small, cruel, greedy, amoral human being who's spent his whole life saying to hell with the social contract most sentient beings at least acknowledge. Now, after his lifetime of fuck yous, it seems, Warren is ready to return the favor.

Noting Drumpf admitted he was “drooling over the idea of a housing meltdown because it meant he could buy up a bunch more property on the cheap,” she rhetorically asked, “What kind of a man does that? Root for people to get thrown out on the street," to lose their jobs and pensions and sometimes end up living in a van? She then furiously responds, “I’ll tell you exactly what kind. A man who cares about no one but himself. A small, insecure money-grubber who doesn’t care who gets hurt, so long as he makes some money off it." Warren went on to blast Trump for suggesting he'd dismantle Dodd-Frank because he is "worried about helping poor little Wall Street,” adding, "Let me find the world's smallest violin to play a sad, sad song.” Oh yes. She's good.

The droll kicker here: While Warren is exposing the Donald's moral bankruptcy, many others are discovering he may be kinda broke, too. Amidst speculation he's refusing to release his tax returns either because he has less money than he endlessly boasts or because he pays virtually no taxes and is thus even more of a lying scumbag than anyone knew, more and more reports are calling out his business record - supposedly his strong suit - as "a disaster" and "an absolute catastrophe" of scams, flops and failures made possible only through the fortuitous "small loan" of a million bucks from his dear Nazi dad. His hotels have gone down in flames, his casinos are heavily in debt, his vodka was undrinkable and his now-defunct steaks drew a hilarious collection of reviews that included the vow, "Never again" - a term, it's noted, usually reserved for the Holocaust.

Now that he's out and loud and boorish for all to see in the presidential campaign, it's just gotten worse. According to data from the travel search engine Hipmunk, bookings at Trump's pseudo-glitzy hotels have plummeted about 60% from last year, when people weren't being bombarded by his racist rambling idiocy on the air waves.

Another report finds that his carefully crafted if entirely bullshit "brand" has been further damaged by the public's exposure to the actual, ugly, short-fingered vulgarian behind the gold-flecked screen. Among those rich enough to consider spending 500 bucks for a night's sleep, his rep has taken a richly deserved nosedive: Skipping the obvious question of what planet these people were inhabiting before this year, the number who consider Trump "upper class" fell by 53%; similar declines hit "prestigious" (39%) and "intelligent"(29%), and a survey foundthat almost half of U.S. residents earning at least $200,000 a year say they'll make a point of NOT visiting a Trump hotel or golf course because who wants to support that creepy money-grubber anyway? Excellent question. Should have been asked long ago - duh - but now's as good a time as ever. Hear Warren go to town.
