Twitterati hail Sugata Bose as Budget Session gets noisy

With Trinamool Congress (TMC) Member of Parliament Sugata Bose targeting the Narednra Modi government on Wednesday in the backdrop of simmering Jawaharlal University (JNU) row, social media remained abuzz, hailing the MP for his tough words.

"Thank TMC's Sugata Bose from rescuing LS debate from lapsing into ugly questioning of each other's nationalism. Such a fine speech, Prof," veteran journalist Shekhar Gupta tweeted.

"#Sugata Bose:what a moving speech from Trinamool MP! Orator par excellence! Amused why didnt bjpian shout?incapable to understand!" a Twitterati Krishna Pachegonker posted.
Another user, #SaveDemocracy, ‏wrote: "Sugata Bose is one such voice which didn't let me repent watching the LS debate today!"

"The debate in #LokSabha was turning into political slugfest but thanks to Sugata Bose & Tathagata Satpathy is now an eye opening classroom," one Nick Martial ‏tweeted.

Another Pratyush Rawal ‏posted: "Sugata Bose and Tathagata Satpathy brought back sense to the nationalism debate in the Lok Sabha today."

During his speech in the Lok Sabha, the Trinamool MP had said: "We have a heartless government which refuses to listen to the cries of the marginalised". He then went on to say that the "idea of India" is not so brittle as to "crumble at the echo of a few slogans", adding that his party "strongly condemns anti-national slogans and posters at JNU". He also said that the Trinamool Congress is against branding of the entire university as a hub of anti-nationalists.

On his part, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Satpathy said: "Here we are shouting and screaming at each other, unable to address the real problem. Pained to say India's youth doesn't deserve us."
