Insane Islamophobic Ted Cruz Mailer Imagines ISIS Hijacking Washington

The mailer declares that the United States is "under assault" from Islamic fanatics.

Republican candidate Ted Cruz is sending out a mailer that depicts a Lincoln Memorial that has been hijacked by ISIS, breathlessly warning voters that the United States is "under assault" from Islamic fanatics.

"If I'm elected President, America and the core values that make us who we are will never be compromised," the mailer reads, "We'll rebuild our military, kill the terrorists, and restore America's greatness as a world leader."

The image seems to even be irking some Republicans, although not because they have the slightest scintilla of a problem with outlandish racist hysteria. Right-wing talk show host Laura Ingraham shared an image of the photo and wrote, "I know it's for effect, but I don't love doing this to Abe Lincoln (Ted Cruz mailing). Do you?"

Last fall, Cruz proposed a ban on Syrian Muslims trying to enter the United States and said Christians should be given priority.

Cruz's father, the evangelical Pastor Raphael Cruz, vehemently supports a theocratic takeover of the United States -- just as long as it puts Christians like him in charge. The elder cruz has said his son, Ted, is "anointed" to bring about "the End Time transfer of wealth."
