Reponses to Sept 11 2001 - in 2002
My 'response' to ' 9/11 ' was one of first in the Art world.
It took the form of an Installation at The 2nd Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale which opened on March 212002 and ran until June 23, 2002
The installation was a 'studio ' -a retake on my my work with Indian Studio Photogrpahy.
My 'studio' space allowed visitors to represent themselves by portraying their interactions with the backdrops i had set up.
The results , at the end of the show. were a surprise to me and the organisers. Most visitors posed with the backdrops about sept 11. they preferred those over the Taj and The Buddha.
And , most surprisingly, they seemed to side with Bin Laden - like the Ozie who held his cell phone to Laden's mouth - "to give him a voice"
