Saudi Warplanes Pound Yemen Capital: War Seen Broadening

While the announcement of the end to Operation Decisive Storm only actually stalled Saudi airstrikes against Yemen for a few hours, it took a few days before the next round of strikes on the capital city of Sanaa, which came today, with a series of strikes around the presidential palace.

Strikes were reported in several other provinces, and coalition warships attacked the port city of Aden, in which Houthi forces are still fighting remnants of the former government.

Saudi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan insisted the war would continue and dismissed talk of negotiations, saying “our only choice is victory in the test of Yemen.”

The most intense fighting on the ground was reportedly in the city of Taiz, where Houthis and Hadi remnants were fighting an intense battle, with unconfirmed reports of Hadi gains.
