Remembering Nov '84

It was the poor who suffered the most. And many of the Sikhs who were set on fire had no connection to  Punjab. They did not even speak Punjabi.

They were  lower caste Labana Sikhs who had moved from Sikligarh, Sind , after the 1947 Partition.

But they still paid the price for a fiery politics of identity.

Mistaken identity , in this mass murderous  case..
