the common sparrow . not so common.

The Common Sparrow  is no longer common in  Delhi. (Like common sense which is not so common).   Should we blame  some imported species?  or look seriously at the real causes. Sprawling cities, for example

A long time ago I had reviewed a 'How to' Photography book by a well known  namesake. In the chapter on Nature Photography he had actually advised against photographing the common sparrow . "That is not Nature Photography " he had written.  Wonder what he now thinks,  as the sparrows disappear from Delhi. Or does he stick to his Pictorialism  -the idea of the world as a  perfectly composed and usally posed picture. Does he and can we, ignore the raw reality of the world's disappearing life forms.
