New bombshell on Netanyahu's warnings before October 7.
Channel 13 published minutes from his Military Secretary, marked top secret, from two meetings in the last ten days before the massacre. Translations in the images.
27 September 2023, a day after Egypt's intelligence chief reportedly flew in to warn him. Netanyahu orders the escalation contained and tells them to use Gaza work permits as a lever. Erez reopens that night and 18,000 workers cross the next morning.
1 October. He talks up a Saudi peace deal and decides to "advance the civilian arrangement with Hamas." On the targeted killings of Hamas leaders, he orders only that operational readiness be advanced. No decision to carry them out. The NYT reports he argued against striking at that meeting because of the Saudi talks.
He has said killing Hamas leaders was never recommended to him. His own office's minutes call them "the targeted killings that were recommended."
The permits went through in hours. The killings stayed on the shelf. Six days later, October 7.
