This is not aid. This is a resource extraction strategy dressed in a hospital gown.

Zambia’s Foreign Minister Mulambo Haimbe went public this week with what Washington didn’t want Africa to see — Trump’s “America First” aid strategy in plain view.
Here’s exactly what the US demanded:
The $2 billion health deal was conditional on Zambia first signing a critical minerals agreement giving US companies preferential treatment. Zambia called this “unconscionable.”
The deal also demanded health data from Zambian citizens, with critics saying the data would largely flow one way, back to Washington.
Zimbabwe walked away from a $367 million package over identical concerns. Ghana rejected its deal last week. Kenya’s $2.5 billion agreement is frozen in court.
In Lesotho, the US initially demanded 25 years of citizen health data and biological samples.
The US has signed these transactional aid agreements with roughly 30 countries, most of them in Africa.
This is not aid. This is a resource extraction strategy dressed in a hospital gown.
