Introducing his latest novel in New Delhi, the newly-awarded Jnanpith Amitav Ghosh spoke to the Wire's chief of bureau Raghu Karnad – about new global connections being created by the climate crisis and refugee changes, how novelists have to give voice to beings and forces beyond the human, and the limits of the rational in helping us understand life, death and our planet.
