President Trump simply does not know how to exit this war he started.
Statements like this reveals something close to schizophrenia. After he just spent considerable effort over 48 hours trying to put Netanyahu in a box and telling him to stop attacking in Lebanon, now he threatens the same thing to Tehran, except it goes further and claims he will attack Iran directly again if they don’t stop HZ.
The truth is, Trump can no longer threaten Israel, and it can no longer threaten Iran.
I continue to maintain the only plausible exit for President Trump is merely to claim victory and walk away. The chances of him getting a negotiated deal to where Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah all agree to stop fighting for the benefit of President Trump, is a near impossible task.
Therefore, if President Trump wants the war to continue, all he has to do is keep up with these meaningless threats — and remain unwilling to walk away — and that’s what we’ll all get.
Meanwhile, important to point out, the Strait of Hormuz remains, closed…
