I finished 's Ungrounding last night and it has left me overwhelmed & speechless. I'll have a lot more to say about it but suffice it to say for now that, while some extraordinary books have been written about Gaza, this one for me is the most important. Here's why:
1. Ungrounding presents the most systematic, comprehensive, and irrefutable case that what Israel is perpetrating in Gaza is a genocide (Because this evidence is being used in the ongoing genocide case at the ICJ, it is necessarily ironclad).
2. It also adds the temporal dimension to Gaza's geography and explains the significance of each location. Meanwhile it also shows you the logic of Israel's destruction, not just of the architecture, but also of soil, water, topography, all to sever the link between land & people
