This is the first time FT has used the term "peer rival" to describe China.
Ten years ago, Western media were saying "contain China";
now they are saying "compromise with China."
The world hasn’t shifted overnight,
it’s just the first time the West finally said it out loud.
The unipolar era didn’t collapse.
It retired quietly, at a trade summit.
