I've written this here over the past few weeks and it grows daily. Israel is as weak as it has ever been. While Germany and a few other countries announce deals for Israeli weapons, Israel has only the conditional support of the Trump administration. Israel does not control reality on the ground, despite the killing and the prevention of aid.
Gaza has been internationalized. Israelis have happily stopped caring and have retreated inside the walls of the asylum, mounting productions for their own benefit. The military dictatorship in the West Bank is also imploding, with settlers taking over and the only law being murderous violence. Israeli oppression is no longer sustainable as a status quo. Israel must make a decision - go for full, overt dictatorship or accept an imposed settlement.
This is not to suggest that anything is being done on behalf of the Palestinians. There is a confluence of material and strategic interests that benefits many players, not fealty to IHL or even a reckoning with regard to the genocide. But Israel really has exceeded all limits of stratefic narcissism. Even the US doesn't trust Israel, and that trend is also growing. Scores are being settled. Israel can and should blame itself alone.
