Gaza’s Gas Field and the Ben Gurion Canal project are central to Israel’s ethnic cleansing campaign in Gaza. One of Israel's stated objectives in its ethnic cleansing plan of Gaza is to exploit the massive gas reserves off of Gaza's coast. On June 19th, 2023, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced plan to develop Gaza's Maritime offshore gas Fields where 1.4 trillion cubic feet of gas were untouched.
